| Ethanol is a clean-burning,
high-octane fuel made from starch and sugar crops, such as maize, sorghum,
potatoes, wheat, sugarcane, cornstalks, fruits and vegetable waste. It is
100% pure, it is renewable, environmentally friendly and cleaner than
gasoline. Currently in the U.S., most ethanol is made of corn, while
sugarcane is used in Brazil (the world’s largest ethanol producer at this
time). This clean, renewable, high performance fuel can be used for your vehicle. Up to a 10 percent blend of ethanol (called E10) is covered under warranty by every auto manufacturer that sells vehicles in the U.S. for every make and every model of vehicle. A combination of ethanol and unleaded gasoline, can decrease the cost of fuel as well as increase fuel octane ratings and decrease harmful emissions of carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and other pollutants. Ethanol is used in reformulated gasoline (RFG) as set out in the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990.
